Cage Fury Fighting Championship 34 Primer: Sean Santella

NEW JERSEY

Of all the fighters in the Northeast, none can boast the same upward trajectory of Sean Santella, Cage Fury Fighting Championship's flyweight king. Blending laser-precise jiu-jitsu with some of the best scrambles in the business, "Shorty Rock" has been in a steady climb for years, and on Saturday - at CFFC 34 in Morristown, N.J. - he'll step into the cage once more, defending his belt and most likely proving yet again that he's the boss at 125 pounds.

Here are some facts about Santella in easily digestible form:
  • He's 13-3-1 as a pro, and went 4-1 as amateur.
  • Shorty Rock has only ever lost by decision, with his last "L" coming at the hands of Aljamain Sterling back in 2011.
  • In addition to his CFFC belt, he's won titles in Ring of Combat, Valley Fight League and the Urban Conflict Championship.
  • Santella has been on a lot of people's radars for a while. Here's BloodyElbow writing about him, as well as MMAJunkie.
  • Here's a video on him courtesy of Buddhasport.

  • Santella has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and is an instructor at the venerable AMA Fight Club school in New Jersey, and trains with a who's who of top-level fighters.
  • Here's a highlight video teammate Andy Main did of him - enjoy!
