It Will Be Great When the New York State Athletic Commission Regulates MMA...

NEW YORK

In theory at least, it should be a good thing when the New York State Athletic Commission starts regulating and overseeing mixed martial arts. After all, they handle boxing, and they do stuff like this.

The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC), which regulates the sport of boxing in New York State, launched an initiative to enroll uninsured members of the State’s boxing community in affordable health care plans through New York State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace...
“We believe it is vital for boxers to have the ability to see a doctor and maintain good health with a yearly physical,” stated NYSAC’s Executive Director, David Berlin. “This initiative gives boxers and others in the boxing community the opportunity to enroll in health insurance plans through the NY State of Health Marketplace. This is a simple, common sense effort to promote their health and well-being.”
