Assembly Hearing Canceled, But Legalization Rally Still a Go

NEW YORK

The Assembly's Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development has canceled their scheduled hearing on injuries in combative sports, which was set for Friday at 10:30am. However, the rally - slated for 9:30am at 250 Broadway - is still a go.


Local fighters have been invited to speak, and the first 200 people who show up will get free tickets to the "UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Bader" event in Newark, N.J. on January 30. Add to this mix the three big UFC events on TV this week, and the MMA World Expo this weekend at the Javits Center (plus the New York Fight Exchange show there on Saturday night), and you have a recipe for something big.
